A few weeks ago, I made this bag for me – I thought.
I really liked the style and size, but ended up giving it to one of my nieces who just got married. So then I made this one…
Interior shot didn’t turn out well. I used a natural canvas, but instead subbed a tan cotton fabric for the pocket.
I have yet to get a picture that truly captures the essence of this fabric. The red is so vibrant and striking. I actually got it in the clearance bin at Hancocks – a yard-sized piece for $2. I previously made this bag with it.
I’ve hung it in my closet like I’m going to use it, but God has already laid someone on my heart to give it to. So I guess there’s a third version of this one coming.
The nice thing about leaving pictures in your camera for a long time is that you can actually post a lot of things as once – even if you aren’t really doing any sewing. It’s been a dull week for that. It would be a perfect day to sew, since we finally got some rain – and it’s going to be dreary for the next few days. But little feet (and knees) are still pounding the floors here.
So much fabric (and ideas), so little time.
Note: The pattern for this bag came out of Bag Boutique by Amy Barickman. It’s the Small Rebecca Bag. I highly recommend this books for the bagaholic. It’s got lots of neat bags and inspiration.

This is a lovely fabric. It does look lively and vibrant. Very nice job…looks great!
