We’ve been quite busy this week trying to wrap up Christmas. I still have a few things left to do. I’m mulling my shopping list, sewing up a few more gifts, and sending out my cards.
We just got our custom cards yesterday. I’ve got them ready to go, but am awaiting the post office. I ordered stamps a few days ago. I won’t touch the line action here. We have the most obnoxiously busy post offices. So, I wait. I don’t mind if they are late and I don’t have time to worry about it.
We were all ready to buy the slightly damaged floor model, slide-in stove from a local Lowe’s, but someone beat us to the bunch. We’ll hit Sears on Friday – a 40 minute drive for us – to get one. Gil was there over the weekend and noted that they had a few reasonably priced ones. Since he starts a two week break on Friday, we’ll go get the stove and get it back in the van.
I also discovered that our local “dump” will take our used appliances with no fee. We’ll load them up on the truck and Bump can check out the dump with Daddy. Too fun. I’ve heard that it’s quite a shopping mart there. He may return with some used building supplies.
And, yes, the tent. We have a 7 x 7 Coleman tent sitting in our living room at the moment. It is the center of activity for our two little guys. Gil got it through work for a very good price…uh, $7. Brand new. And like all boys, we must have a look at our tent. It started out on the porch, but came into the house. And now it’s filled with balls and toys and boys. Even Casey goes in.
I think meal prep is my biggest stresser right now. I am trying to make sure I have everything I need – without my husband eating it before Christmas day. He does that sometimes. Eat first, ask questions later. Sticky notes abound. It’s funny, in a way.
Tis the Season.
